A Garage of Donuts

This was a Work In Progress before the actual opening, but the joys of 'some-times web developer' meant that this site was not ready to go-live, so here we are, a few weeks later, combining a couple weeks worth of photos, and mixing up some words to go with....
The wait is finally almost over!!! Donut Garage has opened is opening their takeaway windows to customers this coming Saturday 20th July!!!
We've been following their warehouse modifications/build as they transformed the front section to house a playground for head chef Simon Francis to craft a selection of tasty donuts.
They were able to soft launch last on Wednesday 17th July to multiple sell-out days, and we dropped by for a preview taste of what the fuss has been all about!! They were so good that we had to go back for another helping on Launch Day, 27th July 2024, help celebrate and capture some of the joyous moments of Community, Cars & Donuts coming together!!
On the menu:
- Maple Bacon
- Cinnamon Scroll
- Strawberry
- Chocolate
- Original Glazed
- Brown Butter
- Pineapple
- Jelly
- Apple Fritter
I grabbed a box of 6, dropped a couple off to my nephews, and gorged myself on the remainder.
The Jelly, Maple Bacon & Pineapple would have to be my personal picks. The Apple Fritter has been a later addition to the menu and I need to find the time to get back and grab some.
Chef Simon🔗
Simon has been on a long quest to craft the perfect most delicious donuts globally!! His hand made donuts are the result of 5 8 9 years worth of crafting to perfect ratios and recipes. There are tales that Simon travelled the vast lands of America sampling all the donuts he could find.
Launch Day🔗
Wow!!! What a day!!! What a vibe!!!
A handful of keen beans were out before the shutters went up, grabbing some prime parking spots. But once the shutters were open, the crowds came through thick and fast!!
Within 2 and a half hours, the 700 donuts that Simon and team had made were all gone!!
The look on Simon's face says it all!!! "I'm fking spent!!!!"
This is the look of a man who has been up baking since 4am, as he finally takes a break and gets to look at the crowd he's drawn to enjoy his creations.
As part of the launch day celebrations, there were free cinnamon donuts being handed out.
Redbull were also kind enough to drop in, complete with a cooler and free Redbulls.
Keeping the party vibe going was the ever rockin Pat Stevenson!!!
Once/(if) you get past the Donut part of Donut Garage, you’ll find a Garage (come mancave) that has plenty of toys to admire, and even a few to play with.

Donut Garage is open Wednesdays - Sundays, from 10am until sold out (or 6pm) at 7 Mitchell Street, Marrickville. Do yourself a flavour and drop in for some Finely Tuned, Freshly Fried goodness, and Supreme Coffee.
