3 Wise Monkys

On Saturday I took a morning meander down to Ingleburn to check out and celebrate the opening of Import Monky’s new physical space. Driving through Sydney on a weekend is always a challenge, and this one had the added burden of wet weather with a thunderstorm, testing the inability of plenty of drivers (and patience of a few more)..

Despite the weather, the turnout was great, with plenty of familiar faces from days gone by (some with the addition of fresh baby faces) joining the regular motley crew.

The main man Bardan was tucked inside the kitchenette slinging Toasties under his & Karmens Turbos & Toasties moniker.

He eventually popped out for some meet & greet in between orders.

Also on catering duties was the Benzin Carry dishing out liquid gold (I swear these guys follow me everywhere!!!!)

BARDAN🔗

The originator of Import Monky.
This all started as a hobby in high school, as an avenue for importing. Import Monky became a serious business when he was confined to a bed for 2 years after needing back surgery.
12 years later, having imported plenty of cars & parts for friends, as well as setting up a shop in Japan that deals with Kei commercial vehicles & trucks, he's ready to dedicate a bigger focus to the business of importing.

From Customer to Partner.
The need for wheels brought Vo to Import Monky, and the shared love of JZX kindled a great friendship with Bardan. Vo has been pivotal in helping out around Import Monky, with plenty of container unloads, and so the natural progression was to partner up.

DOM🔗

Family to Family
Dom & Bardan have only really linked up recently, but they're a few steps related (by marriage), so why not keep it in the family?? The man has been around the traps, from Garage 88, to Hi Octane, with links to some notorious tuning houses, brands & personalities; his experience speaks for itself, especially when you see the goodies on his R33.

You can expect Import Monky to grow!! Now that Bardan isn't spending 80 hours a week running a cafe, he has the time and energy to pour into the business alongside Vo & Dom. Sure, there's plenty of services around that can import things from Japan for you, but the extra personal touches & care that these boys can offer you should keep you coming back for more and more and more.
